Marking a Staff Member as Preferred on a Pet Profile

At MyTime, you can mark a staff member as "Preferred" on a pet profile to help ensure pets are consistently booked with their favorite groomer or service provider. This preference is visible when scheduling in-store appointments and can be set manually or updated automatically based on booking behavior.


Things to know:

  • If a client has multiple pets, each pet can have its own preferred staff member.
  • When a staff member is marked as "Requested" during appointment booking, they are automatically saved as the preferred staff member—either on the pet profile or the client profile, depending on whether a pet is selected.
  • In-Store Appointments
  • If a staff member is marked as Requested and a specific pet is selected → the staff member is saved as Preferred on the pet profile.
  • If a staff member is marked as Requested but no pet is selected → the staff member is saved as Preferred on the client profile.
  • If no staff is marked as Requested → no Preferred staff is assigned.
  • Online Appointments
  • If no specific staff member is selected → no Preferred staff is assigned.
  • If a specific staff member is selected  → the staff member is saved as Preferred on the pet profile.

Manually Marking a Staff Member as Preferred on a Pet Profile


To manually assign a Preferred staff member to a pet:

  1. Go to the Clients tab
  2. Open the desired client’s profile
  3. Locate the pet and click the Edit icon
  4. In the Preferred Staff dropdown, select the staff member
  5. Click Save
  6. The selected staff member will now appear as Preferred on the pet's profile.


Automatically Updating a Staff Member as Preferred on a Pet Profile (In-Store)


To auto-assign a Preferred staff member based on in-store booking behavior:


  1. Go to the Schedule
  2. Filter by location (if applicable)
  3. Click New Appointment, or select a time slot on the calendar
  4. Add the client
  5. If multiple pets exist, choose the desired pet or add a new one
  6. Select a date, time, service, and staff member
  7. Click the star icon next to the staff member’s name to mark them as Requested
  8. Click Save


The selected staff member will be saved as Preferred on the pet’s profile (if a pet is assigned) or the client’s profile (if no pet is selected).



Automatically Updating a Staff Member as Preferred on a Pet Profile (Online)


Clients can also trigger the Preferred staff designation when booking online:

  1. Visit the business’s booking page (via URL or embedded button)
  2. Sign in and select a pet (or add one). If no pet exists, the client may be prompted to select a breed
  3. Choose a service (and optionally add another)
  4. Select a date, time, and specific staff member
  5. Proceed to checkout


The chosen staff member will be marked as Preferred on the pet profile.
