Pet businesses can configure whether package benefits apply to all pets on a client profile or if each pet needs to have its own individual package.
Things to know:
- The ability to configure packages is managed through the Access Packages access control setting.
- Each item group price can be set individually. Item group and package prices can differ by location or location group.
- Packages cannot be restricted to a specific location—they are available for use across all locations.
- A package is considered “used” once a ticket is generated or saved, after the appointment is completed, or if the scheduled appointment or class time has passed.
- Once a package is used, it can only be refunded if the “Allow refunding packages even after they have been used” setting is enabled.
- By default, package credits do not apply to items with a $0 value. However, if the “Should generate bundle purchase usage for items with price $0” hidden setting is enabled, the item credit will be applied.
- If a service qualifies for package credit redemption at the time of booking, the package credit will be applied when the ticket is saved, even if the package expires before the appointment date.
- When multiple clients with pets are checked out together on the same ticket, package credits from one client can be used to pay for services for both clients. This functionality is controlled by the "Allow membership item credits/package items to be usable for different clients on the same ticket" setting in the POS section.
- Revenue for appointments, classes, or products covered by a package is based on the price per item (price per group/quantity).
To configure pet packages:
- Go to Business Setup > Packages tab
- Select the location where you want the package to be sold in the location filter
- Click on the +Add New Package link
- Enter all the package details on the General Settings tab
- Select Individual Pet for the Valid For option
- Add pricing and package benefits on the respective tabs
- Save the package
Once created, the package can ONLY be used for the pet selected when the package was purchased.
