Exporting pet data is essential for businesses to manage pet information efficiently. Whether for data analysis or maintaining up-to-date records, the ability to export pet information can streamline various aspects of your operations. Things to Know:
- The "Allow Access to Client Configuration & Import/Export Tool" access control setting determines whether staff members can export pet records.
- When exporting pets, the system exports all default fields as well as any custom fields.
- For franchise businesses with global clients activated, the pet list cannot be exported at the parent level.
- When exporting pets you have the option to export either all pets or only those that meet certain filtering criteria:
- Export Children – This option focuses on exporting information related to pets
- Export Filtered Children – This option allows you to export pet information based on the locations specified in the location filter. This option is not available for accounts without a child type configured.

How to Export Pets
- Navigate to the Clients tab
- Open the Manage Clients drop-down menu and click Export Children or Export Filtered Children
- A CSV file will be downloaded and saved to your device
Exported Data Columns
Column | Description |
child_id | The unique external ID from the import spreadsheet. If the pet was added manually, this will be blank. |
client_id | The unique external ID from the import spreadsheet for the client. Blank if the client was added manually. |
deleted | Indicates if the pet should be deleted: "FALSE" means do not delete; "TRUE" means delete. |
mytime_child_id | The unique internal MyTime ID assigned to the pet. This ID is generated by MyTime and visible in the pet’s profile URL. |
mytime_client_id | The unique internal MyTime ID assigned to the client. Visible in the client’s profile URL. |
date_of_birth | The pet’s birthdate. |
first_name | The pet’s first name. |
gender | The pet’s gender. |
last_name | The pet’s last name. |
notes | Pet notes found on the pet's profile |
