Displaying Surcharges on Payment Terminals

Modified on Wed, 13 May at 6:45 AM

Surcharging allows businesses to pass payment transaction fees to clients who pay with a credit or debit card. This article explains how these surcharges are presented to your clients on the payment terminal.

Things to know:

  • The ability to display surcharges on the terminal is controlled by a hidden setting. To enable this for your account, please learn more here or contact our support team.
  • This feature is currently available to businesses using Stripe or Global Payment accounts.
  • When a ticket is adjusted, the terminal will display a clear breakdown:
    • The description, price, and quantity of each item.
    • Taxes, discounts, and the total are displayed as separate line items.
  • Once the ticket is closed or you navigate away from the POS screen, the terminal display will automatically clear for the next transaction.
