Once tipping is enabled on your account, a tip field will appear on POS tickets, allowing clients to leave tips. You can also enter tip amounts from printed receipts after the client has left. This article will walk you through using the "Tips on Printed Receipts" feature.
Things to Know:
- To enable tipping, ensure the “Allow Clients to Leave Tips?” setting is activated in your account settings.
- The tip option will only appear on the ticket if a service is included.
- The Settle Later feature allows clients to leave tips on receipts, offering greater flexibility.
- For the Settle Later feature to work properly, clients must have a way to sign and add tips. You can do this using:
- The MyTime Scheduler app on iOS or Android
- A receipt printer paired with MyTime

Clients can only leave tips on receipts when the ticket is paid by credit card
To add tips on printed receipts, simply:
- Navigate to POS > New Ticket
- Enter the client’s name.
- Select a location from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the Services tab.
- Add an appointment to the ticket.
- Click the Take Payment button.
- If a credit card isn’t already on file, add a credit card as the payment method.
- Click Print & Settle Later.
- Choose to print the receipt.
- Have the client sign the receipt and write in their tip amount.
- Click the Settle Payment link in the top-right corner.
- Enter the tip amount
- Click Charge to finalize the payment.
- The tip will be reflected on the finalized receipt.
- Close the ticket to complete the process.
