Federal holidays are nationally recognized public holidays established by the U.S. government. On these dates, most federal offices are closed, and many businesses adjust operations by reducing hours, closing entirely, or applying special policies such as holiday pay. In MyTime, blockages are automatically created for federal holidays by default. However, you can manually remove these blockages or request to disable the system’s automatic holiday blockages entirely.
Things to know:
- The ability to edit or delete holiday blockages is controlled by the Accessing Appointments access control setting.
By default, MyTime automatically blocks the schedule on federal holidays.
To disable automatic federal holiday blockages, the hidden setting “Disable Federal Holiday Blockages” must be enabled by the MyTime team. To request this setting, please contact support@mytime.com
If a federal holiday is blocked, clients attempting to book online will see this message:
“Sorry, there are no appointments for this date. Go to the next available date.” However, appointments being booked in-store are not blocked by the blockages. If blockages are manually removed, they will not be re-added even if the hidden setting is later reverted (turned off).

New Year’s Day – January 1
Memorial Day – Last Monday in May
Independence Day – July 4
Labor Day – First Monday in September
Thanksgiving Day – Fourth Thursday in November
Christmas Day – December 25
