Force Activating Referral Credit

Modified on Fri, 10 Jul at 11:26 AM

Force activation allows you to manually apply referral credits to a client’s account without requiring the standard triggers (such as a completed purchase). This is useful when the referral process didn’t automatically apply the credit due to missing conditions, but you still want to honor the referral reward.

Things to know:

  • The ability to force activate referral credits is controlled by the "Accessing Referral Credits" access control permission.
  • Clients will not receive an automated email when referral credits are force-activated.
  • Force Activation allows referral credit to be granted manually when the normal activation trigger (such as the referee completing a qualifying purchase) has not occurred.
  • Referral credit must be force activated from the referee's client profile, not the referrer's.
  • Once force activated, the referral credits for both the referee and the referrer become available for use on purchases.
  • Force-activated credits cannot be undone once confirmed.
  • All force activations are recorded in the Audit Trail, including the staff member who performed the action in the Modified By column.

To force activate referral credits:

  1. Navigate to the Clients tab
  2. Search for and open the client’s profile
  3. Scroll down to the Referral Credit section
  4. Click the View Referral Credit button
  5. Click the edit icon next to the pending credit
  6. Click the Activate link
  7. Confirm by clicking Yes in the confirmation prompt
  8. Once activated, the referrer and referee will both receive their referral credits, which can now be used toward purchases.
