The Daily Revenue Report breaks down revenue based on the date the ticket was closed or, if no ticket is present, the date the appointment or class took place. The report can be viewed by Revenue at Time of Use or Revenue at Time of Purchase, and can be filtered to include all tickets (open and closed) or only closed tickets.
Things to know:
- The ability to access this report is governed by the "Accessing Reports" access control setting.
- This report does not include tips, sales tax, or voided tickets.
- Products on open tickets will not appear in the Daily Revenue Report until the ticket is saved or closed.
- Revenue from closed tickets is listed on the date the ticket was closed (Note: this may be different from the date of the appointment).
- Revenue from appointments without closed tickets will be listed on the date the appointment took place.
- Refunds are reflected on the date the refund was processed, not the original ticket date. Example: If a $100 item is purchased on November 13th and refunded on November 23rd, the report will show $100 in revenue on the 13th and a $100 deduction on the 23rd.
- Active Deposits: Revenue from deposits is displayed on the date the ticket is closed, not when the deposit was initially paid. Example: If a client pays a $50 deposit on March 4th for a $200 service on March 9th, no revenue appears on March 4th. On March 9th (when the ticket is closed), the full $200 including the deposit will be displayed.
- Forfeited Deposits (Cancellation Fees): If a deposit is kept by the business after a cancellation, it is reclassified as a Cancellation Fee. Example: A client pays a $25 deposit but cancels their appointment. If you choose not to refund them, the $25 will appear in the Cancellation Fee column on the date the appointment was canceled and the ticket was finalized.
- Any additional payments made on tickets closed in the past will be reflected on the date the payment was processed. Example: If a ticket was closed in October for $20 and later edited in November with an additional payment of $10:
- The revenue for October will remain at $20.
- The revenue for November will reflect the additional $10 payment.
- When filtering by "Revenue At Time of Purchase," redemptions for memberships, gift cards, and packages are recorded in their respective revenue columns (Service, Class, or Product) as well as a dedicated Prepaid column. To calculate net revenue, these values are deducted from the gross total. For further customization, the following hidden settings are available:
- Deduct Prepaid Amount from Gross Revenue in Reports: This automatically deducts prepaid items from your gross revenue (displaying them as $0) and hides the Prepaid column entirely.
- Enable Enhanced Prepaid Column for Daily Revenue Report: This splits the standard Prepaid column into three specific categories for more granular tracking:
- Membership Prepaid
- Gift Card Prepaid
- Package Prepaid
- The gift card prepaid value shown in the Daily Revenue report may differ from the value displayed in the Daily Payments report because the Daily Revenue report excludes taxes and tips. If a gift card is used to cover taxes and tips, that portion will not appear in the Daily Revenue report but will be included in the Daily Payments report.
- To keep your reports organized, the Daily Revenue Report consolidates multi-item transactions into a single row:
- Multi-Pet or Family Bookings: For tickets involving multiple pets or family members (created using the "Add Another Pet / Family Member" option), all associated revenue is displayed on a single line.
- Appointment #: All related appointment IDs are listed in this column, separated by commas (e.g., 101, 102).
- Revenue Breakdown: Service revenue appears in the Services column, while product revenue appears in the Product column.
- Multiple Class Enrollments: Tickets that include multiple class bookings and products are also displayed on a single line.
- Booking #: Each class enrollment ID is listed here, separated by commas.
- Revenue Breakdown: Class revenue is shown in the Classes/Events column, while product revenue appears in the Product column.
- Booking #: Each class enrollment ID is listed here, separated by commas.
- Report Exports: When you export the report, these grouped items maintain the same format, ensuring all linked IDs remain visible and comma-separated.
- Multi-Pet or Family Bookings: For tickets involving multiple pets or family members (created using the "Add Another Pet / Family Member" option), all associated revenue is displayed on a single line.
- The net revenue shown on the Daily Revenue report may not always match the net revenue on the Sales Tax Collected report due to the following differences in how each report handles specific transactions:
- Cancellation Fees: These are included in the Daily Revenue report but excluded from the Sales Tax Collected report.
- Gift Card Redemptions: These are included in the Sales Tax Collected report but are excluded from the Daily Revenue report when it is filtered by Time of Purchase.
- Non-Refunded Appointment Deposits: If a deposit is collected for an appointment that is later canceled and not refunded, it will appear on the Daily Revenue report but not on the Sales Tax Collected report.
- Comparison Tip: Always compare the Total Net Revenue (Sales Tax report) to the Net Revenue (Daily Revenue report). Do not use Taxable/Non-Taxable columns for this comparison.
- This report is not intended for reconciling bank deposits. To reconcile your bank deposits, please use the MyTime Pay Settlements reports instead.
- The system automatically hides columns for features you don’t use (e.g., if you don't offer Classes, the Classes column will be hidden).
- Credit card surcharges are displayed in the CC Surcharge column next to Net Revenue. Learn more here.
- Updating a location's nickname or address only affects future reporting; historical data will retain the original location details. Key Reporting Details:
- By Date: Transactions completed before the change will still display the original nickname and address when filtering by date.
- By Location Filters: When filtering by location, the old address will be the only address shown because that is where the initial transaction occurred
- Report Location Filter: The location filter will update to reflect the new address and nickname, regardless of whether the report shows data by date or by location
- You can export the report in either Summary or Detailed View, depending on your reporting needs:
- Summary View: Consolidates data by category (such as location, staff member, or service type). This is ideal for high-level analysis, allowing you to review total revenue and overall performance without looking at individual transactions.
- Detailed View: Provides a line-by-line breakdown of every transaction (or "ticket"). This view is best for auditing specific sales, reviewing individual client history, or reconciling exact payment amounts for a specific day.
