For pet businesses, you can set service prices and durations per breed at the location group level. This allows consistent breed-based pricing across all locations in the group, without requiring staff titles. Once a price or duration is added at the location group level, it automatically applies to all locations within that group.
Things to know:
- The ability to configure service prices and durations by breed at the location group level is controlled by the following access settings:
- Accessing Services Menu
- Assigning Service Prices
- Assigning Service Durations

- For franchise businesses, the "Do prices vary by staff member?" and "Do service durations vary by staff member?" settings on the Business Setup > Settings page are configured at the parent level and cannot be adjusted at the child level.
- When the "Do prices vary by staff member?" and "Do service durations vary by staff member?" settings are changed at the parent level, the price and duration for services will be retained only at the first location under each child account. However, for any additional locations, the service price and duration will be reset.
- For a service to be bookable online or in-store, it must meet the following three criteria:
- Staff Assignment: At least one staff member must be assigned to the service
- Duration: The duration must be set to 1 minute or more
- Price: The price must be $0 or greater
- Note on Add-ons: Unlike standard services, add-ons are more flexible and can have a duration of 0 minutes or more.
- You can set your service price to $0 (free) or any higher value depending on your business model.
- Breed-specific pricing displays when a location group is selected in the Services Menu.
- Adding or editing breed-specific pricing at the location group level updates it for all locations in that group.
- When a new location is added to a group, its breed-based pricing and durations are automatically set to match the group (if the settings are configured for “same by location group”).
- The way your service price appears to clients depends on the Price Varies setting and the dollar amount entered:
- Displaying "Price Varies": If the Price Varies toggle is checked and all staff/location prices are set to $0, the system hides the dollar amount and displays "Price Varies" to the client.
- Displaying a Price with a Disclaimer: If the Price Varies checkbox is checked but you have entered a non-zero price (e.g., $50), the system will display the price normally. However, it will automatically add the disclaimer "Final price may vary after consultation" to the service details.
- Displaying a Free Service: If the Price Varies checkbox is unchecked and the price is set to $0, the service will be displayed as a standard free service without any "Price Varies" text or disclaimers.

Enable Service Pricing & Duration by Breed for Location Groups
- Go to Business Setup > Settings.
- Scroll to the Staff section.
- Configure the following settings:
- Do prices vary by staff member? → Select Prices are set by title per location or location group OR Prices are the same for all locations and staff members in a location group.
- Do service durations vary by staff member? → Select Service durations are set by title per location or location group OR Service durations are the same for all locations and staff members in a location group.

- Click Save.
Adding Price and Duration for Breeds at the Location Group Level
- Go to Business Setup > Services.
- Select a location group.

- Click Edit next to the service you want to adjust.

- Under Price and Duration by Pet Breed, click Add New.

- Select the pet breeds, then enter the price and duration.
- Click Save.
The changes will be reflected at all locations in the group and applied automatically when creating an appointment in the scheduler for clients with matching breeds.
