Creating Vacation Days, Day Offs and Sick Days

Modified on Fri, 17 Jan at 9:15 AM

A staff member can set vacation, days off, or sick days at any time, provided they have access to customize their own hours. These can be scheduled directly on the calendar. This article will guide you through the process of creating vacation days, time off, and sick days.

Things to Know:

  • When a staff member has a scheduled day off, vacation day, or sick day, no data will be displayed in Staff Scheduling report for those days
  • If a vacation day, day off, or sick day is updated, the staff member's scheduled or custom work hours will be reflected in the reports. For example, if Tash had vacation days scheduled for December 19 and 20, but her schedule changes and she now needs to work on December 19 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the reports will reflect her updated hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the 19th.
  • Staff members with scheduled days off, vacation days, or sick days will not be available for selection in online bookings on those dates.
  • If an appointment was scheduled before a vacation day, sick day, or day off is set, reports will still display data for the appointment for the staff member. However, when the appointment is opened, the error message "Note: X is not scheduled to work at this time." will appear on the appointment modal.
  • If an appointment is scheduled in-store for a staff member on a day off, vacation, or sick day, the following error message will appear on the appointment modal: "Note: X is not scheduled to work at this time." However, once saved, the appointment will still appear on the staff member's schedule.

To set vacation days, days off, or sick days on the schedule, they should do the following:

  1. Navigate to the Schedule
  2. Filter by Day/Agenda View
  3. Select their name
  4. Choose between Day Off, Sick Day or Vacation Day
  5. They will then be directed to the custom hours interface with the Vacation Day, Day Off, or Sick Day set as default to be edited
  6. Set the desired hours
  7. Save
