Selling Electronic Gift Cards in POS

Modified on Thu, 4 Sep at 8:37 AM

Selling electronic gift cards through the POS is a convenient way to boost sales while offering clients flexible gifting options. This article explains how to sell electronic gift cards in-store.

Things to know:

  • The ability to sell electronic gift cards in POS is controlled by the "Creating Tickets" access control setting.
  • Gift cards sold without being assigned to a recipient will appear on the purchaser’s profile. You can edit the gift card later to assign it to a recipient if needed. This feature is controlled by the “Display Unassigned Gift Cards On The Purchaser's Profile” setting under Business Setup > Settings. Example: If you sell a gift card to John via POS without specifying a recipient, the gift card will display on John’s profile. You can then edit it later to add recipient details.
  • You can configure expiration for gift cards sold to clients. This functionality is governed by the "Enable Gift Card Expiration" setting. Learn more here.
  • Gift card purchases can be redeemed both in-store and online.
