Updating Inventory Cost & Price for Location Groups

Modified on Thu, 1 May at 8:30 AM

When adding a product SKU to your inventory, you can make it available for purchase across a location group. This ensures that all locations in the group offer the product to their clients at the same cost and price. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to update location groups with consistent cost and pricing for products.

Things to know:

  • The ability to update inventory cost and price for location groups is governed by the "Accessing Inventory Costs" and "Accessing Inventory Prices" access control settings.
  • To learn how to configure location groups, please click here.
  • When updating the cost and price of products by location group, you must select the "Add to Inventory" option. This does not indicate that the item is currently stocked—it simply allows you to update the cost and price for the item at the selected locations.
  • To ensure all locations in the location group inherit the same cost and price for SKUs when adding them to the inventory, toggle on the "Update all locations" option. This setting is not saved to the database
  • When the feature is turned on, the cost and price will only be updated at the location(s) where the SKU is stocked.

To update inventory cost and price for location groups, simply follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to POS > Inventory
