The Inventory Reason settings allow you to customize the list of inventory reasons. If enabled, you will be able to add as many inventory returns or adjustment reasons as you so desire.
Things to know:
- Existing inventory reasons can be deleted but not edited
- For franchise businesses, inventory reasons can be created at both the parent and child levels.
- To ensure that inventory reasons added at the parent level are visible to child accounts, the Activate Inventory Reasons Dropdown setting must also be enabled on the child account.
- Inventory reasons created at the parent level cannot be edited or deleted at the child level.
- If the "Activate Inventory Reasons Dropdown" setting is not enabled:
- You cannot customize inventory reasons.
- You can only use MyTime's predefined reasons for inventory returns or adjustments.

Enabling the Inventory Reasons
- Navigate to Business Setup > Settings
- Scroll to the POS section and locate the 'Activate Inventory Reasons Dropdown' setting
- Toggle to" Yes" to see the list displayed below with the preset list of reasons
- Add and remove items from the list to make it your own. The +Add link is located at the bottom of the list, and the delete button is represented by the red X next to each reason on the list
- Save changes
Viewing Inventory Reasons
When processing an inventory adjustment, the added reasons will be displayed in a list from which to choose.
