Off-peak prices can be set up for services directly from the service menu. These prices function similarly to promotions and are an excellent way to attract new clients and fill slower appointment times. This article will guide you through the steps to create off-peak pricing for your services.
Things to Know:
- The ability to configure off-peak pricing is controlled by the "Assigning Service Prices" access control setting.
- For franchise businesses, off-peak prices created at the parent level can be updated or deactivated by child locations. However, child locations cannot modify the off-peak times set by the parent.
- Off-peak prices must be lower than the regular service price
- Off-peak pricing only applies to appointments booked online
- Existing appointments are not eligible. The discount only applies to new appointments scheduled after the off-peak price has been configured.
- If an off-peak price and a one-time sale are set at the same time, the one-time sale takes precedence.
- If an off-peak price is deleted, previously booked appointments will retain the original off-peak price. The price shown on the client’s ticket will not change.
- Staff commissions are based on the off-peak price. For example, if the regular price is $100 and the off-peak price is $80, the revenue and commission will be calculated from $80. The pre/post discount commission setting does not apply in this case.
To create off-peak pricing:
- Navigate to Business Setup > Services
- Locate the service for which you want to activate the off-peak price
- Click Edit
- When the service modal opens, the "Off-Peak Price" option will be displayed at the bottom
- Click the Activate hyperlink to expose the Off-Peak Price section:
- If prices are the same for all locations and staff members, off-peak prices can be set on the main service menu
- If prices are the same for all locations and staff members in a location group, off-peak prices can be set by the location groups
- If prices are set by title per location or location group, off-peak prices can be set by title
- If prices are set by location or staff member, off-peak prices can be set by location or staff members
- Enter the off-peak price
- To discount all open times or to select a specific time period, click the edit link
- Discount all open times: This will apply the off-peak price to any open time available after the off-peak price is configured
- Only discount specific times: When selected, it displays a list of the days of the week allowing you to add hours on the day the off-peak price should be applied
- Save off-peak time
- Save service changes
Please note: There is a price gauge that illustrates how competitive your pricing is in the local market below the off-peak prices. Depending on the changes made to the off-peak price, the following guide will appear:
- Fair Your price is about the same as local competitors in (your business zip code)
- Great! Your price is lower than local competitors in (your business zip code)
- Yikes! Your price is higher than local competitors in (your business zip code)
