In this article, we will guide you through the process of assigning services to staff members.
Things to know:
- Services can only be assigned to staff members who have the Service Provider role selected in their profile.
- If no services are assigned to a staff member, appointments cannot be booked with that staff member.
- Unassigning a service from a staff member will not affect reports for appointments that have already been booked.
- If the "Do prices vary by staff member?" setting is configured as one of the following:
- "Prices are set by location or staff member"
- "Prices are set by title per location or location group"
- "Prices are the same for all locations and staff members in a location group"
- A location dropdown will appear at the top of the "Edit Service Price and Duration" modal, allowing users to set service prices based on the different locations where staff members provide services.

Assigning Services When the Price is the Same for All Staff Members
If the "Do prices vary by staff member?" setting is configured to "Prices are the same for all locations and staff members," you can assign services to a staff member directly from their profile by following these steps:
- Navigate to Business Setup > Staff & Availability
- Click on the staff member's tile for whom you want to assign services
- Scroll down to the Services section on their profile
- Click the "All" hyperlink to select all service categories, or use the dropdown arrow to select individual services from each category
- Click Save to apply your changes
Assigning Services When the Price Varies
If the "Do prices vary by staff member?" setting is configured as one of the following:
- "Prices are set by location or staff member"
- "Prices are set by title per location or location group"
- "Prices are the same for all locations and staff members in a location group"
You can assign services to a staff member directly from their profile by following these steps:
1. Navigate to Business Setup > Staff & Availability
2. Click on the staff member's tile to whom you wish to assign services.
3. Scroll down to the Services section on their profile
4. Click the "Edit" link next to the service category you want to assign services to for that staff member
5. In the "Edit Service Price and Duration" modal, use the location dropdown at the top to select different locations where the service prices apply for the staff member
7. Select the checkbox next to the desired service(s)
8. Enter the price and duration for the selected service(s)
9. Click Save to apply the changes
