Configuring Google Analytics Tag Manager Tracking

The Google tag lets you send data from your website to linked Google product destinations to help you measure the effectiveness of your website and ads. Tracking user actions, such as cart additions and purchases, is now simpler than ever. The pre-configured Google Tag Manager (GTM) container allows you to set it up quickly and effortlessly—no technical expertise needed!

Importing The GTM Container

1. Log in to Google Tag Manager (https://tagmanager.google.com/#/home)
2. Select the account and container where you want to import the template.
3. Go to Admin > Import Container. 


4. Click 'Choose Container File,' select the downloaded file, and upload it. 


5. Choose 'Default workspace.'  


6. Select Merge to combine with your existing setup. 


7. Review the changes and click 'Confirm'. 


Configuring The GTM Container


1. Go to Variables.

2. Locate "[CHANGE] - Constant - GA - Measurement ID," click to open it, and update the Value with your unique GA4 Measurement ID

3. Navigate back to Variables. 

4. Locate "[CHANGE] - Constant - Parent Domain URL," click to open it, and update the Value with your website URL (including https://)

5. Go to the Trigger tab

6. Locate "PV - Parent," click to open it, and update the Value with your domain name (without https://)



Publishing the GTM Container


  1. Click Submit in the top-right corner to publish your changes 
  2. Once published, tracking will begin in your GA4 account.
  3. You can now integrate Google Analytics Tag Manager with MyTime. Learn more here.
