Deleting Tickets in POS

Modified on Thu, 18 Sep at 10:19 AM

Occasionally, tickets may be created in error or duplicated. This article explains how to delete open tickets in the POS system to ensure your records remain correct and up to date.

Things to know:

  • The ability to delete tickets in POS is controlled by the "Accessing Open Tickets" access control setting.
  • Open tickets can be deleted as long as no payment has been tendered using a credit card. For example, if a ticket was created for an appointment but no credit card payment was applied, it can be deleted. However, if even a partial credit card payment has been processed, the ticket can no longer be deleted.
  • Closed tickets cannot be deleted but can be reopened and edited if changes (such as adding a tip or correcting a service) are needed. Learn more here.
  • Tickets generated from classes or appointments booked through the booking widget that remain unpaid can be deleted. This includes open tickets for:
    • Appointments covered by a package
    • Appointments covered by a membership
    • Appointments booked online with pay-in-person options
    • Appointments booked online with promo codes
    • Appointments booked online using gift cards, loyalty points, or referral points
  • Deleting a ticket does not cancel the associated appointment. To check out the appointment, a new ticket must be created.
  • Deleted tickets do not appear in reports; however, any revenue recorded before deletion will still display in revenue-related reports and will have no impact on MyTime reporting.

To delete an open ticket:

  1. Navigate to POS > Open Tickets
  2. Apply filters to select the preferred date range, if necessary
  3. Click on the Ticket # of the ticket you wish to delete (this can be tickets from appointments, products, etc.)
  4. On the bottom left side of the ticket page, click Delete
  5. The ticket will then be deleted and removed from the open tickets list
