Online Booking and In-Store Appointment Schedule Intervals

Booking intervals are fixed time segments used in scheduling systems to set the start and end times for appointments or services. This article provides a detailed guide on configuring both online booking intervals and appointment scheduling intervals.


Things to Know:

  • Online booking intervals and in-store appointment schedule intervals can be customized independently.
  • Intervals can be set in 5-minute increments, ranging from 5 minutes to 60 minutes. Example configurations:
    • Online bookings can be limited to every 30 minutes (e.g., 9:00, 9:30, 10:00).
    • Internal schedules can display appointments every 15 minutes, but allow staff to book at finer 5-minute increments (e.g., 9:05, 9:10, 9:15).
  • There are three types of intervals that can be configured:
  • Appointment Time Picker Intervals – Controls the time options available in the dropdown when staff book appointments using the appointment modal.
  • Appointment Schedule Intervals – Defines how the in-store calendar is segmented in the day and week views (e.g., 15-minute or 30-minute blocks).
  • Online Booking Intervals – Sets the available time slots that clients can choose from when booking online.

How to Configure Online Booking and In-Store Intervals


To set online booking and appointment schedule intervals:


1. Go to Business Setup > Settings

2. Scroll down to the Online Bookings section

3. Set your desired intervals for the following options:

  • Appointment time picker intervals
  • Appointment schedule intervals 
  • Online booking intervals

3. Click Save Changes 



Example Scenario


Let’s say you configure the settings as follows:


Appointment time picker intervals: 5 minutes

Appointment schedule intervals: 15 minutes

Online booking intervals: 1 hour


Here’s how this setup would behave:

  • Booking Widget: Clients will see appointment times available every 1 hour (e.g., 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am). 
  • Appointment Schedule View (Day/Week): Staff will see the calendar divided into 15-minute blocks for easier viewing.
  • Appointment Modal (Staff Booking): Staff will be able to schedule appointments at 5-minute intervals (e.g., 9:00 am, 9:05 am, 9:10 am).
