Mass Opt-in for Marketing SMS

Modified on Thu, 8 May at 11:24 AM

In this article, we'll walk through the steps on how to send a campaign to a list of clients, prompting them to opt-in to SMS marketing.

Things to know:

  • The ability to send the marketing SMS opt-in campaign is governed by the "Accessing Email Campaigns" access control setting.
  • You are solely responsible and liable for complying with all SMS Marketing regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA") and the CTIA's Short Code Monitoring Handbook and Messaging Principles and Best Practices.
  • The content is not editable
  • By default, the recipient list will automatically display clients:
    • Who is associated with a location

    • Have a mobile phone number on file and have not double-opted in to receive SMS marketing campaigns

  • Clients who have previously opted out/unsubscribed will not appear in the list

To send the marketing SMS opt-in campaign:

  1. Navigate to Marketing > Campaigns > Templates tab
  2. Hover over the “Marketing SMS opt in” template and select the Send link
  3. Click on the "Next Select Recipients" button at the bottom right of the page
  4. Apply the desired filters. Learn more here
  5. Once satisfied with your recipient list, click on the Send button
  6. On the "Campaigns Sent" tab under the Sent Text Message Campaigns section, you will be able to view the campaign that was sent.
