When you update a service’s price in the service menu, that new price will automatically apply to all future appointments booked after the change. However, for existing appointments created before the price update, a prompt can appear in the appointment modal giving staff the option to update the price. This article explains how this prompt works and under what conditions it appears.
Things to know:
- The ability to update service prices from the appointment modal is governed by the “Accessing Appointments” access control setting.
- This feature is enabled via a hidden setting that must be activated by the MyTime team. To request activation, contact support@mytime.com.
- Once enabled, if a service’s price is changed in the service menu:
- A prompt will appear on existing appointments created before the price change.
- Staff will be given the option to update the appointment to reflect the new price or leave the original price unchanged.
- If the staff member’s "Accessing Appointments" permission is set to View, they can still see the prompt and choose whether to update the price.
- The prompt will not appear if the setting “Automatically Calculate Price Based on Start and End Date of Appointment” is enabled.
- Appointments:
- Not linked to a ticket will display a “Create Ticket” button.
- Linked to a ticket will show a “View Ticket” button in the appointment modal.
To update appointment service price prompt on appointment modal:
- Navigate to the schedule
- Book and save an appointment for a service
- Go to the Service Menu and change the price of that service
- Open the existing appointment you booked before the price change
- A prompt will appear just below the service name and price

- Save
