Adding Associated Locations to Client Profiles via CSV Files (Ingest Data)

Modified on Fri, 17 Jan at 12:36 PM

In this article, we will discuss the steps you would take to add associated locations to client profiles using CSV files in Ingest Data.

Things to know:

The "Manage Client Setup" access control setting, when set to "Allow Access to Client Configuration & Import/Export Tool," governs the ability to export client information.

To add or update an associate location to client profiles:

  1. Navigate to the Clients tab
  2. Select the ‘Manage Clients’ drop-down menu > Export Clients
  3. The client list will be exported and downloaded to your device
  4. Open your download folder then open the export
  5. On the export, locate the clients you wish to update, then in column AH - associated_location_ids, add the store ID for the locations you want to be associated with the clients
    • The store ID can be found by:
      • Navigating to Business Setup > Business Profile
      • In the Locations section, click "Edit" next to the location
      • On the Edit Location modal, the Store ID will be visible. If none is available, please add one, save the changes
  6. Once the store IDs are added, download the sheet as CSV. To download the sheet, at the top left-hand of the page, click File
    • Hover over the Download option from the drop-down option then click Comma Separated Values  (.csv)
  7. The CSV file will be downloaded and saved to your computer
  8. Navigate back to the Clients tab
  9. Select the ‘Manage Clients’ drop-down menu > Import Clients
  10. You will be directed to the 'Import Clients' page
  11. Choose the CSV downloaded in the steps above. The file will appear on the page, then click Import

The associated location changes will be implemented and can be seen when you open any of the client's profiles you inserted for the change.
