Selling Gift Cards on the Scheduler App

In this article, we will walk through the steps on how to sell gift cards from the Scheduler app. 


Things to Know:

  • If no recipient is entered in POS, the gift card will not be linked to a specific client but can still be viewed in the Gift Card Activity and Gift Card Balances reports.
  • Gift cards sold to clients without being assigned to a recipient will be visible on the purchaser's account, enabling you to edit the gift card later and assign it to a recipient. This functionality is governed by the setting "Display Unassigned Gift Cards On The Purchaser's Profile," which can be found under Business Setup > Settings. For instance, if you sell a gift card to John through POS without adding a recipient, the gift card will be accessible on John's profile, and you can subsequently edit it to add a recipient.
  • The gift card's purchase and balance will be visible in the Gift Card reports.


To sell a gift card on the Scheduler app, follow these steps:


1. Log into the Scheduler app. For detailed login instructions, click here

2. From the Schedule screen, tap the POS icon in the navigation menu3. In POS, add a client, then tap + Product to open the Add Products modal

4. Select 'Gift Card' from the list

5. On the Gift Card screen, you can:

  • Enter the gift card amount
  • Assign an expiration date
  • Enter a card number (optional)
  • Add a recipient (optional)
  • Assign a staff member to receive commission for the sale
  • Apply a discount (if applicable)

6. Tap Add at the top right corner of the screen

7. Once the gift card has been added to the ticket, tap Pay at the top right corner

8. Select the desired payment method(s) and enter the amount received for each.

9. Tap Finish at the top right corner of the screen

10. The ticket screen will display all charges and payments under their respective tabs

11. Tap Done at the top right corner to complete the transaction
