The appointment visit count displayed on the appointment tile shows how many times a client has completed services within each service category. Each time a client completes an appointment for any service in a given category, the count for that category increases by one. This helps track how often a client has received services from each category over time.
Things to know:
- This feature is controlled by the "Display Service Count on Appointment Tiles" setting.
- The system tracks the total number of completed appointments per service category, not per individual service. For example, if a client completes three different services under the Haircut category, the Haircut category count will show 3, regardless of which individual haircut services were booked.
- Cancelled appointments are not counted and do not appear on the schedule.
- Add-ons are excluded from the count, as they are not treated as standalone service categories.
- Appointment visit count logic for pet businesses:
- The appointment visit count is based on the overall number of visits by the client for a given service category, regardless of which pet the service was booked for.
- Each time a client completes a service within a specific service category—whether for Pet A, Pet B, or Pet C—the count increases.
- The count displayed on future appointments reflects the total number of completed appointments for that category across all pets linked to the client. Example: If a client has two dogs—Max and Bella—and books grooming appointments as follows:
- Max: 2 completed grooming appointments
- Bella: 1 completed grooming appointment
- The next grooming appointment booked for either Max or Bella will display visit number 4 on the appointment tile when that appointment is completed.

Number of Appointment Visits Based on Appointment Type
The appointment visit count shown on the appointment tile reflects a client’s completed visits for each service category. Below is a breakdown of how the count behaves depending on the appointment type:
Appointment Type | Description |
Completed Appointments | Appointments in the past are assigned consecutive numbers once marked as completed. Example: Maxine Brown receives a Swedish Massage on Jan 1 (1), Mar 1 (2), and May 1 (3). |
Future Appointments | All future appointments will display the same visit count, based on the most recent completed appointment. Example: Lucy Campbell completed 2 Gel Pedis and has 3 upcoming. All 3 future appointments show "3". |
Recurring Appointments | If an appointment in the recurring series is deleted or canceled, the visit count updates accordingly. Example: Maxine Brown completes Jan and Feb massages, cancels Mar. April and May show "3" until completed. |
No-show Appointments | No-show appointments retain the current count, but are excluded from future visit count progression. Example: Samantha Brown's 5th Gel Pedi is a no-show; the next appointment will still show "5". |
Waitlist Appointment | Waitlist appointments display the projected count while in the waitlist stage. Example: Troy Henry completed 2 Hot Stone Massages. His waitlisted appointment will show "3". |
Couples Appointments | Couples Appointments Only the main client’s appointment history is considered; the guest’s history is not included. Example: Marsha Samuels books a couples massage with Phillip. The count will only display for Marsha Samuels. |
Service Group Appointments | Service Group Appointments When services span multiple categories, the highest visit count among those categories is shown. Example: Jade Williams had 1 Gel Mani. Books a Gel Mani + Gel Pedi. Count shows "2" for the service group. |
