ACH Fee for Reconciliation

Modified on Mon, 14 Jul at 2:59 PM

For franchise businesses that use the reconciliation feature, one reconciliation is completed per period. During that period, a franchisee will receive either a single withdrawal or a single deposit, depending on whether they owe or are owed a net amount.

For that single ACH transaction, the franchisee is charged a fee—typically once per month. In essence, these transactions are batched to minimize the number of ACH transactions and fees.

Things to know:

  • The ACH fee is $5 per transaction
  • If a franchisee does not have a reconciliation fee configured, the system will defer to the franchise (parent) company's reconciliation fee if one is set.
  • If no reconciliation fee is set at either the parent or child level, no reconciliation fee will be charged.
  • The franchise company will not incur the ACH fee if no ACH transactions occur during the reconciliation period.

Scenario 1: Single Bank Account Across All Locations

  • A franchisee owns four locations
  • All locations share the same bank account (ACH account)
  • In January, each location received a deposit (e.g., Location A - $100, Location B - $300, etc.).
  • Because there is only one bank account, the franchisee is charged a single $5 ACH fee for the month.
  • Total ACH Fee: $5 per month

Scenario 2: Multiple Bank Accounts Across Locations

  • A franchisee owns four locations but uses three different bank accounts.
  • Example:
    • Locations A and B share the same bank account
    • Locations C and D each have separate bank accounts
    • Total: Three bank accounts in use
  • The franchisee will be charged $5 per bank account
  • Total ACH Fee: 3 x $5 = $15 per month
