We match clients and users by default based on their first names and email addresses. You can, however, choose to match clients and users solely on the basis of their email addresses, even if their first names differ. This is managed by a hidden setting and is disabled by default. In this article, we will explore both options.
Match Client & User by First Name & Email Address
When the hidden setting is disabled, if a client attempts to sign up on your booking widget using the same email address and first name as the client created in-store, both profiles are synced.
However, if they use the same email address but a different first name, a new client profile will be created.
Match Client & User by Email Address Only
When this hidden setting is enabled, clients and users will be matched solely on the basis of their email addresses, even if their first names differ. When a client signs up on the booking widget with the same email address but a different first name as the client created in-store, both profiles are synced (matched). The setting can be enabled by emailing MyTime Customer Success at support@mytime.com.
