Fractional Quantities

Fractional quantities can be applied in any section of MyTime that involves quantities, and they are adjustable to a maximum of two decimal places. This article will guide you through the steps for incorporating fractional quantities in MyTime.

Things to know:

  • This feature is managed by a hidden setting that is accessible only to the MyTime team. To activate this hidden setting, kindly get in touch with our Support Team at support@mytime.com.
  • If the setting is not enabled, the quantities will be presented as whole numbers.
  • Fractional quantity can be applied to purchase orders. This option is available once the purchase order is in the following statuses:

    • Draft - When the purchase order is in draft status, you can add quantities using fractional amounts.

    • Check-In - You can add fractional quantities for retail and back bar inventory, as well as for damaged and defective items when the purchase order is in check-in status.

  • Fractional quantity can be applied to stock checks when entering the stock count in the "Add Count" field.
  • Fractional quantities cannot be applied to products covered by packages or memberships when checking out
  • During the process of ingesting data, fractional quantities can be utilized for retail and back-bar quantities, including minimum (min) and maximum (max) values.
  • Promotions configured with whole number quantities do not take into account any fractional quantity adjustments in the POS. For instance, if a product costs $15, a fractional quantity of 1.56 is applied, and the promotion is set for 1 product with a 10% discount, the discount amount will be calculated based on the whole number (10% of $15, which is $1.50).

POS

POS ticket: Below are examples of using fractional quantities in POS.

If you modify the quantity of products on the new ticket page, the price is updated to reflect the fractional amount change. When the ticket is closed, the fractional quantities utilized will still be visible

When refunding tickets or processing a return without a receipt, you have the flexibility to use fractional quantities to facilitate the refund process.

Inventory: Fractional quantities can be applied to a product's retail and back bar quantities, including minimum (min) and maximum (max) values.
