Moving Multi-Staff Services/Appointments Independently

For multi-staff appointments, merchants have the option to allow services to be connected (locked) by default or disconnected (unlocked). The difference between the two are:

  • When a service is connected, its start time is tied to the previous service's end time.

  • When disconnected, it can be edited to be any time on the same date as other services.

Advantages of services being disconnected:

  • Services will show up as separate tiles in the calendar, even if adjacent to another service.

  • Individual services can be dragged and dropped easily to fit in appointments with multiple services into a busy schedule.

Let’s look at an example of how each setting works.

Disconnect services by default disabled

  1. Navigate to your schedule
  2. Book a multi-staff appointment 

In the screenshot below the first service's end time is 12:00 pm and the start time for the second service is 12:00 pm.

The start time for the second service cannot be adjusted unless it is unlocked. To do this, click on the lock icon on the left next to the end time.

Unlocking the service will make the service time editable as seen in the screenshot below. I edited the start time of the second service to 1:30 pm.

Disconnect services by default enabled

  1. Navigate to your schedule
  2. Book a multi-staff appointment 

In the screenshot below the first service's end time is 2:00 pm and the start time for the second service is 2:00 pm. The start time for the second service can easily be adjusted because it is disconnected (unlocked).

If you want to lock the second service, click on the open lock icon on the left next to the end time. This will make the second service connected to the first service.
