Updating Inventory for Location Groups

When updating inventory SKU cost/price, there is a toggle that allows you to add the SKU to inventory for all locations in the location group or only update the locations that already have the item in inventory.  Things to know:

  • The Add to Inventory toggle:
    • Will be off by default
    • Is only shown for location groups
    • Will not be shown for individual locations
    • Can be turned on and off and it is not saved to the database.
  • When the toggle is off, products that show "+ Add to Inventory" will remain that way
  • When the toggle is on, price/cost will change for the locations in the location group for the specified SKUs, whether they have quantity or not. Quantity will be set to 0 if they were not already added to the inventory.

Let's now look at an example of how to utilize this feature.

1. Navigate to POS > Inventory

2. In the location filter, select the location group where you want to update the SKU cost and price.

3. Next, search for the SKU to be updated and select Add to Inventory. In this example, we will be updating the AG Blonde Dry Shampoo SKU for the Tier 1 location group.

4. Here you can add/adjust the cost and the price.

By default, the Add to Inventory toggle will be off. If the toggle remains off, the cost and price will be updated only at the location the SKU is stocked at. See the example below.

When the toggle is on, price/cost will change for the locations in the location group for the specified SKUs, whether they have quantity or not. Quantity will be set to 0 if they were not already added to inventory.
