When updating the cost or price of an inventory SKU, there is a toggle that allows you to add the SKU to inventory for all locations in the location group or only update the locations that already have the item in inventory.
Things to know:
- The 'Update all Locations' toggle:
- Is only shown for location groups
- Will not be shown for individual locations
- Can be turned on and off and it is not saved to the database
- When the toggle is turned on, the price/cost for the specified SKUs will change for all locations in the location group, regardless of quantity. If they haven't already been added to inventory, the quantity will be set to 0.
- When the toggle is not turned on, the cost and price will be updated only at the location where the SKU is stocked.
Let's now look at an example of how to utilize this feature.
- Navigate to POS > Inventory
- In the location filter, select the location group where you want to update the SKU cost and price
- Next, search for the SKU to be updated and select Add to Inventory. In this example, we will be updating the Cantu Revitalizing Shampoo SKU for the Tier 1 location group.
- Here you can add/adjust the cost and the price
If the "Update all locations" toggle is OFF, the cost and price will be updated only at the location where the SKU is stocked. See the example below.
