Revenue from multi-day appointments is displayed differently depending on the report and settings. In this article, we will provide an overview of how to configure your account to display revenue from multi-day appointments on the last day of the appointment, rather than the first day. We will also outline the reports and charts that will be affected by this change.
Things to know:
- By default, for multi-day appointments:
- Reports based on the appointment date, such as the Bookings by Client report, display revenue on the first day of the appointment, regardless of the ticket's close date or the appointment's end date.
- In contrast, reports like the Daily Revenue report display revenue on the first day of the appointment if no ticket is associated. If there is an associated ticket, revenue will be displayed based on the ticket's close date.
- For reports based on the appointment date, you can configure your account to display revenue for multi-day appointments on the end date of the appointment instead of the first day. For example, if an appointment spans from September 6, 2024, to September 20, 2024, the revenue will be recorded on September 20, 2024. For reports based on the closed ticket date, the revenue will still be determined by the ticket's close date if a ticket is associated with the appointment. This feature is managed through a hidden setting that only the MyTime team can enable. To activate it, please contact our support team at support@mytime.com. Note that once enabled, this change is irreversible and will only apply to appointments and tickets created after activation.

Since the data displayed on the charts on the dashboard is sourced from the reports, activating the hidden setting will affect the data displayed on the following charts on the dashboard:
-
Bookings Charts
-
Services Charts
-
Productivity Charts
-
Revenue Charts (for appointments without an associated closed ticket)
-
Clients Charts (for appointments without an associated closed ticket)

Let's explore an example of the default behavior compared to the behavior when the hidden setting is activated.
Hidden Setting Disabled (Default Behavior)
An appointment for the Large Dog Boarding service for Sam was scheduled from November 19, 2024, to November 24, 2024.
By default, if there is no associated ticket, the revenue from this appointment will appear on the first day of the appointment in reports.
However, once a ticket is associated and closed, reports based on the closed ticket date will display the revenue on the ticket's close date and those

Hidden Setting Enabled
After enabling the hidden setting, scheduling an appointment for Bron for the same Large Dog Boarding service with the same duration as mentioned above will result in the revenue being displayed on the last day of the appointment in reports, provided there is no associated ticket.
Once the ticket is closed, reports based on the closed ticket date will show the revenue on the ticket's close date.
