Client Preferred Location vs Associated Locations

A client’s preferred location provides staff with valuable insight into where the client most prefers to make bookings and purchases. Associated locations, on the other hand, are the locations where the client has had appointments, enrolled in classes, or made purchases, such as products, memberships, packages, or gift cards. This article will explain the key differences between a client’s preferred location and associated locations.

Features Description
Purpose Provides staff with insight into client preferences for bookings and purchases, enabling customized campaigns.
Assigning Preferred Location Available during the creation of a new client or when editing an existing client profile.
Automated Messages Automated marketing messages (such as Flash Sale and Client Engagement templates) will include the address of the client's preferred location if multiple locations exist.
Campaigns

If the client is associated with multiple locations, has a preferred location set, and all locations were selected when sending the campaign, the campaign received will display the preferred location's address.

Associated Location

Features Description
Purpose Links clients to specific locations based on their interactions, purchases, and assigned preferences.
Assigning Associated Location

A client is associated with a location in 4 ways:

    • They have/had an appointment/class enrollment at that location
    • They purchased a product, membership, package or gift card at that location
    • The location was marked as preferred on the client's profile
    • The location was manually assigned when the client record was being created or in the case where an account only has one location, the location will be automatically assigned when the client record is created on the Clients tab.
Automated Messages

Automated messages may reflect the associated location of the client based on their activities and preferences, such as:

  • The client has or had an appointment or class enrolment
  • The client purchased a product, membership, package, or gift card
  • The account has only one location
Campaigns
  • If the client is not associated with any location, they will be excluded from the recipient list, and you won't have the ability to send them any campaigns.
  • If the client is associated with locations A and B within the same franchise and the campaign is sent to all locations, the client will receive a single email.
  • If the client is affiliated with franchises A, B, and C, and a campaign is sent by all of them, the client will receive an email from each respective franchise.
