In this article, we will walk through the steps on how to delete SKUs using ingest data.
Things to know:
- The setting "Allow exporting inventory in ingest data format" must be enabled to export your inventory data in a zip file format to be used
- The barcode associated with a deleted SKU will also be removed. You can then use the same barcode for other SKUs
To delete a SKU:
- Navigate to POS > Inventory
- Select the Export link at the bottom right corner of the page
- The inventory data will be downloaded in a zip file. In that file, locate and open the inventory_skus sheet:
- To delete product SKUs, change the "0" to "1" in the deleted column for the corresponding SKU
- Once you have made your changes, download the sheet as a CSV
- On the Inventory page, click Import
- On the Import Inventory page, read the instructions and then click "Upload File Here"
- Select the CSV file from the file manager and then click the Import button
- You will then be directed to the Ingest Data batch page, with the file located at the top
- Refresh the page until it is completed. When completed, the file will be assigned an end time and the status will be changed to Finished
Congratulations on successfully deleting your product SKU with Ingest Data. You can navigate to POS > Inventory to view the changes.
