Prompt to Update Appointment Service Prices

Changing the pricing of a service in the service menu will automatically apply to all future bookings made after the price change. For existing appointments that were made before the price change, a setting is in place to display a prompt on the appointment modal when the price of a service changes. In this article, we will walk through the steps on how the prompt is displayed.

Things to know:

  • This feature is controlled by a hidden setting that only the MyTime team can enable. To enable the hidden setting, please contact our Support Team at support@mytime.com.
  • When the hidden setting is enabled and a service pricing adjustment is made in the service menu, a prompt shows on all existing appointments.
  • Staff members will have the option to update the price for that appointment to match the new pricing from the service menu. Alternatively, they can choose to ignore the prompt, thus keeping the old pricing for that particular appointment.
  • If the access control for 'Accessing Appointments' is set to view, staff members can still see the prompt and alter the service price on the appointment modal.
  • The prompt to update the service price will not appear on the appointment modal if the setting, Automatically Calculate Price Based on Start and End Date of Appointment is enabled
  • Appointments not linked to a ticket will present the "Create Ticket" button in the appointment modal, whereas appointments associated with a ticket will show the option "View Ticket."

Update Appointment Service Price Prompt on Appointment Modal 

  1. Navigate to the schedule
  2. Book an appointment for a service
  3. Save
  4. When you alter the service pricing on the service menu and open any existing appointment, you will notice the prompt just below the service's name and price
  5. Click the "Update Price" hyperlink
  6. The price will be updated to the new service price, and the prompt will be removed
  7. Save
