Resource quantity refers to the number of resources needed for a service, which clients can specify when booking online. In this article, we'll walk you through the steps to configure and use resource quantity in your business.
Things to know:
- To use resource quantity online, you must create a resource with the booking per time slot set to the maximum number of clients that can be accommodated simultaneously for that resource. Learn more here.
- A custom field is also required to be displayed on the booking widget with the resource quantity. Once the custom field is created, please contact our support team at support@mytime.com to enable the custom field IDs.
- The value set for the resource quantity custom field will take precedence over the resource capacity configured under the Staff and Availability tab, ensuring consistency between the custom field value and the resource capacity.
- For franchise businesses, the resource quantity custom fields created at the parent level will be visible across all child accounts. However, the fields created at the child level will only be visible for that child's account

Once the resource quantity is configured, selecting a value for all bookings on the booking widget will be required

If clients don't select a quantity on the service selection page but proceed to checkout, they will be prompted on the checkout page to choose a resource quantity.
Booking Online With Resource Quantity
To book appointments with resource quantity, clients would:
- Navigate to your booking widget
- The resource quantity custom field will appear at the top of the 'Book Appointment' page
- Click 'Book' next to their desired service then select a time from the 'Pick a a Time' page
- On the checkout page, the quantity selected will appear along with the appointment details
- Complete the booking to see the appointment confirmation. The confirmation will also include the quantity selected
Viewing Resource Quantity on Appointments Modal
- Navigate to the schedule
- Filter by the desired date and location
- Open the desired appointment
- There will be a quantity field with the selected quantity next to the resource on the appointment modal
